Introduction to this channel:

Citizen Health channel is a Health Literacy Platform created by IAPSM.

The constitution of India gives her citizens a right to life. Health is an integral part of a fulfilling life. Apart from the health care system and health care providers, citizens themselves are increasingly being recognized as important drivers to health. Citizens can take care of their own health through health literacy. Health literacy is the ability to access and utilize health information for healthy decisions and healthy actions.

With the changing profile of our environment, our food and our lifestyle; our health problems are also changing. With the availability of technology, there is an explosion of health information available to citizens through various media. It is a concern that some of such information may not be reliable. This transition calls for empowerment of citizens for their own health decisions and health actions.

Therefore, recognizing the citizen’s need for authentic information around health issues, we are creating this platform in the form of a YouTube channel. This platform will host dialogues and informative videos by experts of preventive and social medicine specialty. Citizens can look forward to authentic information around health issues on this channel.
